Late Friday Five

Usually, if I miss the questions on Friday, I just don't bother with it or I completely forget. I saw the questions last night and just noped out for the moment because I was too tired and not able to get my brain to wake up, but why not now? I have things to say!

1. How long ago did you join LJ (or DW)?

I don't know for sure for LJ since I have long since deleted it, but I know it was around 2005 or 2006. I definitely remember having it by 2006 because I distinctly remember participating in FMA and other anime-related communities. I had known about LJ for quite a while before I joined it, though. I am pretty sure that I also had a private journal on one of the more obscure LJ clones... Ujournal, I think? Does anyone remember that?

For DW, I joined in 2013 when I was starting college and just trying to get back into fandom and stop lurking around so much. It helped get me into Welcome to Night Vale back in the day.

2. How did you find out about LJ (or DW)?

For LJ, Various anime websites that linked to it. I am thinking of LELOLA, in particular. For DW, I just followed everyone else here.

3. If someone introduced you to LJ (or DW), is s/he still on your friends list?

I learned about it because of

lelola, but we were never mutuals.

4. Have you introduced anyone to LJ (or DW)?

No, it's my own little oasis away from people I know in the real world. I haven't led any fannish people here that I know of.

5. Is your LJ (or DW) public or friends only, and why?

Public because I try to keep my personal details vague and don't think anyone I know in real life could find their way here. I have thought about changing my stance for some entries just to be safe, though.

"There's eleven of us."

Yesterday was the "last" day of tax season.. in that extensions for personal and corporation returns were due. While I'd love to say I can now breathe until January.. there's still an extension due date for estates & exempt organizations, so bleh.

But my dad realized his spreadsheet had an error and it turns out I've been having WAY too much taken out of each paycheck, so the rest of the year I'll have a little boost, which will go a good way to paying off the credit card bill that's been hanging over me like Eeyore's little black cloud since Stig crapped out the first time.

Not to say all of it has been Stig. I've been doing a lot of retail therapy the last few years, to get through life. But I've really been trying to rein it in, which is a LOT easier now that my happy place is no more *raises a glass for Joanns*

Now, the point of the post:

I love when Taylor releases a new album, because it means I get almost a month of Taylor 13 on SiriusXM. Yes, I have all her albums on iTunes.. but there's just something about the radio shuffling for me. No other artists sprinkled in; JUST TAY-TAY.

One of the bumpers caught my attention the other day (while sitting in traffic), as a gal called herself "a Rep girlie" and Steve went HOLD ON. In about a minute, I'd starting assigning Red vs Blue characters albums like a Hogwarts house.

( I HAVE A PROBLEM AND THEY LIVE IN BLOOD GULCH. )

Anyway...

I'm hoping that now that things have cooled off a little at work, I can put some focus into a good spring cleaning of the apartment and a massive backlog of 1_million_words* and writerverse prompts. Also maybe get back to cleaning up the external harddrives and the HTML here on LJ/DW. We'll see...

But a quickie update:
+ saw TRON:Ares last night. I have little interest in Jared Leto, but I really enjoyed the movie. I hope it does well because LORD, the smattering of teases at the end.
+ saw Amy Bruni live and in person, last week, with

bizarra. It was a lot of fun aside from the lady sitting next to me who wouldn't stop grumbling about everything.
+ please don't be one of those people and leave your tax return stuff to the very last $*@) minute. It's really annoying and some of us have to bring work home to try and get it done ASAP ahead of the 10/15 deadline. [stares at two clients in particular]
+ zero fundraising progress has been made for Princess. It's partly on me, because I don't fundraise; but also the person who was supposed to be handling my portion of the incentives hasn't yet put any of my incentives up. I don't want to back out.. but I'm about to just let the team have my $200 and just be cheerleader.

I had to go back and actually tag all the fanfic back to 2007 because for some reason, I never actually made a fanfic tag. Also the last time I wrote/posted fanfic was August 2021. That's depressing... DX
